Autism Speaks walk held today in West Palm Beach, FLorida

The warm weather finally came today to West Palm Beach in South Florida just in time for the Autism Speaks walk.  It was a great day and the turnout was very large as some estimates were that over 5,000 supporters came out to walk.  The music was playing and speakers spoke to the large crowds.  Bob and Suzzane Wright were two speakers as they are the founders of the autism science and advocacy organization Autism Speaks.

Aside from raising awareness about autism, the walk also served as a fundraiser and petition drive aimed at urging the passage of the Autism Treatment Acceleration Act.  April 1 is World Autism Day

Michael - This post mens a lot to me.  My 6 year old daughter is autistic and awareness is needed.  Thank you for educating people and supporting autism.

Nevin,

It means a lot to me as well as my 17 year old has lived with it his whole life.  I was unable to get to the walk and get pictures because I wasn't aware of the walk until yesterday morning.  As you see more and more of us with children on the spectrum, every day is becoming easier to help our children due to education and outreach of others.

I will send you some helpful information in the near future!

All the best,
