Still blogging like a rookie! Sheesh!

This site is a little overwhelming at first I suppose, I just can't wait to sink my teeth into it soon.  The learning curve seems a bit longer than some of the other networking sites, but once you get the hang of it, it's probably more beneficial.  That's my opinion, and you know what they say about opinions!! :) Keep watching the improvements!!   Slow & steady..........Ciao 4 Now!

One thing that you can do to get used to the site is to set up a signature in your settings section. This was all your blogs will end with who and where you are. Another thing that you could do is to write little posts about local stuff in your area (like good restaurants, shops, etc) and post them to localism and on your outside blog (if you have one). Then, consumers might see you online as a local area specialist. Good luck.

Thanks so much for the pointers, I don't even know how you saw my blog, but I am glad that you all did.  I will try the settings thing, I saw settings, just not sure about the next step!

The newbie blogs are great.  There is a lot to learn and it will all come together eventually.

When I first joined, I didn't do a thing for months!  Then, I came on and read tons of posts, especially those geared towards newbies) and after a while, it just became easier.

Have fun!

Mona, the same way you posted your blog to the Active Rain Newbies Group, you can also add it to other Groups, which will help other people 'see' you and comment.

You, in turn, can click on the people's names who comment on your blog, and to go their blog to see what they're writing about. If you have something to contribute, comment on their blog.  If you really like what they have to say, you may want to subscribe to their blog.

When you subscribe to someone's blog, their profile/blog shows up on the right hand side of your "My home" page.  That makes it easier for you to visit those people and comment on their blog.

When you find a few groups you like you can subscribe to them, and the next time you want to post something, all the groups you subscribe to, will show up/be listed for you to choose from.

It takes a little while, but you'll get there.  We all had a little trouble initially, but this is a great place.
Have fun and drop me a note if you need any help at all. :)
